District Olympic Association, Bareilly

The District Olympic Association, Bareilly (DOA Bareilly) is the officially recognized district unit of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association (UPOA). The Association is a dedicated and committed body working towards the promotion, development, and coordination of sports and sporting activities across Bareilly district.

The primary objective of the District Olympic Association, Bareilly is to strengthen grassroots sports, encourage youth participation, and establish effective coordination among various district-level sports associations.

The Association plays a vital role in nurturing talent, promoting Olympic values, and supporting athletes, coaches, and sports administrators in the district.

Formation and Reconstitution

On 13 February 2021, the District Olympic Association, Bareilly was reconstituted by Dr. Anandeshwar Pandey, General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association and former Treasurer of the Indian Olympic Association.

During this reconstitution:

  • Dr. Ashish Gupta, Senior TV Journalist and Entrepreneur, was nominated as President

  • Dr. Vinay Khandelwal, Managing Director of KCMT and a dynamic youth leader of Bareilly, was nominated as Chairman

  • Dr. Siria S. M. was nominated as General Secretary

  • Dr. Swatantra Kumar, renowned educationist and entrepreneur, was nominated as Treasurer

Leadership and Present Structure

In the Annual General Body Meeting held in 2025, the then District Magistrate of Bareilly, Mr. Avinash Singh, was nominated as Vice President of the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association, reflecting the growing recognition and credibility of the Association at the state level. In the same meeting:

Dr. Ashish Gupta, Senior TV Journalist and Entrepreneur, was re-nominated as President, reaffirming the trust placed in his leadership, experience, and vision for sports development.

Following the unfortunate demise of Dr. Siria S. M., Mr. Faisal Baig was nominated as General Secretary.

Governance
